This will be our fourth replacement pump for the fountain, which we love, but unless we clean it the whole thing thoroughly and regularly these pumps seem to burn out quickly. And we only have two cats.
We are sorry to hear that your pumps are being replaced so frequently, Julie! Please ensure that the pump is being completely disassembled every 1-2 weeks as shown in the manual. We have a video here showing how to take the pump apart:
Please also put a drop of vegetable oil or olive oil on the pin inside the pump to lubricate. This should keep it running for many years! We will reach out to you privately as well to ensure that you have the best information on maintenance, and to figure out why this is happening.
We've had our unit about 6 months. Pump is barely putting out a stream. Stock up on the replacement parts for they aren't made anymore... $100+ is a lot to drop on another fountain. Also suggest putting another stainless steel screen in front of the plastic screen, or thin meshy fabric to catch debris before it goes into the pump. Place it in front of the gray removable piece in the actual bowl.

We recommend to clean your pump about every 2 weeks to remove debris that could have gone inside the pump.
